How to Make a Hot Toddy!

Happy Hot Toddy Day! Yes, there’s a National Hot Toddy Day! Embrace cozy vibes on National Hot Toddy Day on Thursday January 11! There’s something magical about sipping on a warm, aromatic hot toddy, especially on a chilly day. Did you know that this classic drink isn’t just delicious but can also have some herbal benefits? I’ve listed some of my favorite hot toddy recipes below! Get your very own hot toddy kit here! ?✨ Traditionally made with whiskey, honey, hot water, and spices, a hot toddy is not only a treat for your taste buds but also a remedy that people have turned to for centuries. Honey soothes the throat, while the warmth of the drink helps you unwind and relax. Perfect for those cozy moments at home! Consider adding your favorite herbs or spices to your hot toddy for an extra boost. Whether it’s a sprinkle of cinnamon, a twist of orange peel, or a hint of fresh mint from your garden, make it your own nature-inspired creation.

1. Classic Comfort Hot Toddy:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions:

  1. Boil water and pour it into your favorite mug.
  2. Add whiskey and stir in honey until fully dissolved.
  3. Squeeze the juice from the lemon wedge into the mug.
  4. Garnish with the lemon wedge and a cinnamon stick.
  5. Allow it to steep for a minute, then sip and savor the warmth!

2. Citrus Spice Infusion:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 oz spiced rum
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 orange slice
  • 3 whole cloves

Instructions:

  1. Heat water until steaming and pour it into a mug.
  2. Stir in spiced rum and maple syrup.
  3. Add an orange slice and cloves for a burst of citrus and spice.
  4. Let it steep for a couple of minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

3. Herbal Elegance Hot Toddy:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hot chamomile tea
  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
  • 1 twist of orange peel

Instructions:

  1. Brew a cup of hot chamomile tea.
  2. Stir in bourbon and agave syrup.
  3. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary and a twist of orange peel.
  4. Let it steep for a few minutes to infuse the herbal notes.
  5. Indulge in the soothing blend of chamomile, bourbon, and subtle sweetness.
